I went and saw Tim Kasher at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn last Thursday. It was the first time I saw Kasher perform from his solo material (he also played some songs from his bands Cursive and The Good Life). Birthmark, the solo project of Nate Kinsella (formerly of Make Believe) opened and also joined Kasher on stage for some songs.
Mr. Kasher mentioned they would be recording the new songs they played together for his sophomore album in the next couple weeks. The set itself was fun, but interesting. It involved about as much talking between songs as actual music, but it was incredible entertaining.
